Geez, talk about neglectful. It's been a long time since Two Guys has done anything, hence the lack of news. I'd been holding off on making any sort of announcement but I guess after two years of no shows, practices or anything else, it's pretty clear that we're not really a band any more. We never really had the discussion that you have when you break up a band, we just kind of stopped playing and moved on to other things. It was fun while it lasted, thanks for paying attention and being supportive. Here's what we're up to these days:
Simpl
Tic Code
Cameron's solo music

5/8/04

Sorry about the lack of news as of late. We're super busy with Tic Code and our other projects, so Two Guys is on a little break. Not so sure what the future hold for us, but I will of course post it here when something happens.

2/4/04

If I was a fan of us, I'd be pretty annoyed, so I apologize in advance for the announcement I'm about to make. Once again the west coast tour, planned for April, is cancelled. I (Cameron) am resuming my role in Pinback for their April tour instead. For a more detailed explanation, go here.

12/4/03

We're not going to be playing SXSW this time, but we are going to do a west coast tour in April, so all y'all west coastian muthafuckas, watch out 'cause we comin' to yo' town!

10/3/03

I apologize for the lack of updates lately, but unfortunately there's not been much to tell. Here's what's happenin': There's talk of an Absolutely Kosher showcase at the next SXSW. If it does happen, we'll most likely be playing, which also means we'll be playing some shows on the way to and fro the festival. I'll post any tour dates on the shows page. word.

5/13/03

The July tour has been cancelled. We were unable to get shows in most of the cities in which we planned on playing. Sorry y'all, maybe in a few months.

4/25/03

Okay, the cd's out in Europe now too, so there are no more excuses for any of you not to own it!!! Oh, pardon me, I got a little carried away. Zealrecords released the European version of Recorded on the 22nd. If you live in Europe but can't find it at the store, Zeal will have copies available on their web site very soon.

4/8/03

We're working on booking a mid/southwest tour for mid July. Many of the cities we're aiming for are places I've never booked before, so if anybody has any suggestions as far as venues, places to stay, etc, please email me. These cities are as follows:

Boise, ID
Salt Lake City, UT
Denver, CO
Lawrence, KS
Austin, TX
Phoenix, AZ

4/3/03

Just got word from Zeal in Europe, it looks like the release date over there has been pushed back to April 22nd.

3/17/03

I'm kinda glad to have the cd release show over with. I was pretty obsessed with it for the couple months before it happened and now I don't have to think about it any more. The turnout was a bit disappointing but what can you expect for a band that nobody's ever heard? At least the people there seemed to enjoy it. Now that the cd's out and the release show is out of the way, we can focus on playing a bunch of northwest shows in the coming months and trying to build a decent local reputation. We're hoping to do at least a west coast tour in July, maybe a little more than west coast, depending on how the cd is doing.

3/13/03

Recorded is in stores now! Finally after all that waiting it's out. Sigh of relief. I guess there were a couple hiccups in Europe so it won't be out there until April 8th. Our big cd release show is in two days. I've been flyering like mad and telling everyone I know to come, so hopefully some of them will. If you live in or near Portland, YOU SHOULD COME!!! Oh, and I hope you like the new web site.

2/13/03

Our cd's are here!!! So excited! They look really good too, which is a relief. Best news of all, you don't have to wait for the official release date to get one, because they're available through Absolutely Kosher now.

2/1/03

I usually don't post on this page about shows since, well, that's what the shows page is for. But this is a special occasion. We finally got a venue and date nailed down for our cd release party and we're really excited! Actually, it's a "CD Release Formal", as in formal attire. Not only does that mean that all of the bands will be dressed up nice, it also means that you get 2 whole dollars off admission if you're wearing something fancy! What a deal!! We really hope people show up for this one. That means YOU! Look on the shows page for more details.

1/12/03

The new release date for our cd is March 11th. Let's hope that'll stick.

12/12/02

The release date for our cd has been delayed, hopefully only two or three weeks, but not exactly sure yet. Pinback isn't yet done with their ep for Absolutely Kosher, and since Cory wants to release ours and theirs at the same time, both releases have gotten pushed back.

10/25/02

Our debut cd "Recorded" will be available Feb 25th both in the US and in Europe. However, you can listen to a couple mp3's from it now if you want an appetizer.

10/15/02

Tour sucked. You can read about just how much it sucked here. We got back almost two weeks ago, I've been working on the cd artwork pretty much constantly since then. Sent it all off today though, so now it's up to the good ol' record labels to do their thing. Putting tour behind me, focusing on cd...

9/22/02

Just got home from work, printing out the itinerary for our second tour. We leave in about 45 minutes for Seattle. Dates are all listed on our shows page. I have mixed feelings about this one. I was excited when I started putting it together but now I'm worried it'll be a big let down. I'd be kind of bummed if it wasn't at least a little bit better than the last one. But I digress... or do I? I don't know, I'll be keeping a tour diary again and will post it when we get back. I hope it turns out good.

9/4/02

Yay! We just got done recording our first album! It still has to be mixed, which will happen in a couple weeks, but it's all sittin' there on tape over at Jackpot! Studios. It sounds great and I'm sure that it'll sound even better once it's all mixed and mastered. All I can say is thank fucking god that's over. The last three days were extremely grueling, but I think it was worth it. Still excited.

8/6/02

Killing two birds with one stone with this little tidbit of Two Guys news:
        1) Zeal Records, from Belgium, is going to be releasing the cd in Europe.
        B) They are giving us money THIS WEEK to record, so we'll be headed into el studio in early September! I'm very excited about this, as are they. Now lets just hope that the album does well over there so we can get some European touring action happening sometime in the next year.

7/22/02

After scrambling to get my shifts covered at work and trying to practice as much as possible within the last few days, we are about to leave for San Diego to play two shows with Pinback. These will most defiintely be the biggest shows we have and maybe will ever play. I can't imagine getting a show with anyone else who sells out Canes and The Casbah both within two nights of each other. It'll be fun, hopefully we won't screw anything up too badly.

5/19/02

So we got back yesterday from our tour. I thought it was great, my goals were to 1) have fun, and 2) generate some interest in us and get some names for the mailing list, both of which were accomplished. Next tour, which I'm planning for sometime in late September or early October, should be even better. Thanks to everyone who came and watched us, hopefully it was worth your while.

5/5/02

Here I sit in anticipation of tomorrow, the beginning of our first tour. Hope it will go okay, I don't expect much but I hope at least that it will be a fun trip and maybe some people who who haven't heard of us will enjoy the show. We'll be selling shirts and giving away demos of the three songs that are on this web site.

4/13/02

Finally, three months after the process started, we have our shirts! They look quite nice and would be a stylish yet sophisticated addition to anyone's wardrobe. I recommend buying one for yourself and for every member of your family. There's a picture and order form on the merchandise page.
Our tour is mostly booked, except for San Diego. Yes, I realize the irony in that. Hopefully something will happen because I would be very bummed if we weren't able to play there. The schedule so far is posted on our shows page.

2/14/02

Aw, it's Valentines Day and I’m writing to all the lovely people who visit our site... Just wanted to let y'all know that the west coast tour has been pushed back to May. But it still holds that if anyone thinks they can get us a show (especially in Seattle or LA), please email me.

1/3/02

We played the show in SF and Cory seemed to dig it a lot. So it’s pretty official I guess that he's going to do our cd. Other than that, it’s good to have our first show out of the way and we're trying to set some up here in Portland. We're also working on setting up a west coast tour for sometime in April. Come to think of it, if anybody reading this books shows in any of the west coast cities and thinks they could hook us up, feel free to send us an email. Also, we're getting shirts made soon, and I'll post a photo and an order form when they're available.

12/5/01

Well I guess since they put us on their web site as one of their bands, it’s safe for us to say that the label we've been talking to is Absolutely Kosher Records. Cory, the guy who runs the label, is trying to set up a show for us in San Francisco so he can see exactly what he's getting into, but he says that he really wants to do our record either way, so I suppose it’s mostly decided. If everything does work out as planned, I don’t think the album would be out until June or July of next year at the soonest, probably later. I will, of course, post details as they become available.

10/4/01

There’s been a name change. Trivial, but still... We’re now just “Two Guys” instead of “The2Guys” After lots of silly (on both sides) argument with a label about matters with which I won’t bore you, we agreed to take the “The” off and change the “2” to “Two”. I know it sounds stupid and although I do kind of feel like a sucker, they did have valid points and the change really didn’t compromise anything conceptually, just aesthetically; so we agreed. The deal still isn’t completely concrete, so I won’t say which label it is, but we’re very excited about the prospect of working with them and we hope it’ll work out.

5/19/01

As of now we’re just practicing and hoping to start playing shows by around maybe September or so. Lots of ideas--none realized yet. You can subscribe to our mailing list to stay up to date on stuff without having to check here if you want.
